Okay, for the few of you who might have read my recent review of Captain America: Civil War where I said that was my favorite Marvel movie, well it was two weeks ago. But then this movie came out. I am not being fickle, X-Men: Age of Apocalypse is epic.

First off, Apocalypse is just an eerie guy. I also like villains that are almost invincible. Something about fighting that kind of being does it for me. I enjoyed Eric/Magneto’s back story. His darkness is growing, but he has not given in completely.

The tale begins when Apocalypse is uncovered and quickly begins his control over the world by creating four riders of the apocalypse to aid him. When he kidnaps Charles, the heroes know they need to fight a would be god and his four henchmen if they are going to have any chance to save the world.

The fight climaxing the movie is all out action that goes a good twenty minutes. Quite the battle. Quicksilver is not only awesome, but also mighty. This young version became a great addition to the movie. Nightcrawler too. Nice to see more of the other X-Men in this flick as well.

Not many downsides here. If sweeping, world in jeopardy, stories are something you enjoy, than this movie rights its own ticket. There were some complaints about Mystique being strangled by Apocalypse in an advertisement.

A) Apocalypse was evil, so the message to me would be, do not be an evil bastard like this guy.

B) Sorry, Mystique is a powerful woman and power women takes risks to fight for what they believe in.

I could go on, but I think we need to grasp the wider concept, which is people have a certain desire for action and its presence will not be disappearing any time soon.

This movie packs a punch. I loved it. If you like the hero action, you cannot pass this up. Amazing to have two top class Marvel movies come out back to back. This one edges past Captain America. I could happily watch this one more than once over the upcoming years. I will probably buy this one down the line. Yeah, I still buy movies!
