Have you read this book?
2012: Midnight at Spanish Gardens is a story of five friends of five friends who gather at a small café for their twentieth reunion celebrating their graduation from college. Each one has a tale to tell, of a life lived or not yet lived. The world they know will end at the stroke of midnight or will it?
On the eve of the end of the world, 20 December 2012, five friends meet in Spanish Gardens, where they had celebrated their college graduation 20 years before. Over Irish coffees, they reminisce -- and reveal long held and disturbing secrets.
Each friend in turn is given a curious set of instructions by an enigmatic bartender named Ariel: "Your life is filled with cross roads and you are free to choose one road or another at any time. Stepping through this door takes away all choices except two -- the choice to live a different life or return to this one...." (2012: at Spanish Gardens, Alexander, 2011)
This is one of those can't put down books as you become so engrossed in the lives of the characters and their choices, you have to see where their choice leads them. I'm sure we have all at one time in our lives wondered what our lives would be like if we had taken the road not traveled. Who or what would we have become? In this book five friends get that chance, good or bad it's their choice. I rate it five stars, It is a must read for anyone.
