Volonians is a tale of a planet where everyone, even the lowest citizen, has magical powers to some degree. There is the ruling class responsible for ensuring all citizens use their power properly and that the Vondercraft, a book of super magic, is used only by the wisest of them -- The Council of five.
Varah Cutter, a class 6 witch, somehow manages to conjure up the Vondercraft, but has no idea how she did it. Once her secret is out, she and her family are pursued by two enemies who seek to take the book away from her, even if it means destroying her or her family in the process.
Suddenly a light beam cuts through the darkness- a ring of fire. The ring falls, floating gently from the sky, landing on the dry, rocky surface. The fire morphs into a middle-aged man. Standing alone in the dark Universe is Viscera, one of Volonia's prestigious Guides. He stands six feet tall with pale skin and blonde hair. He is impeccably dressed in a white robe and a flowing cape hanging from his broad shoulders. His face wears a look of exhaustion. A black case appears, hovering in the air nearby. Volonians had the opportunity to be a very good book if you love tales of magic and strange planets. But in my opinion the authors ruined it with their style of writing; it appears as though they were writing a play rather than a story. If you enjoy tales of witchcraft and magic and can get past the writing style, this might be a good choice for you.
