Book Review by Bill Johnson
Have you read this book?
A young boy is to discover what his is really in their fathers work shed.
An old man whispers a word that sets his victim on the road to madness. A Victorian Dandy and his dog might just save the world from the unspeakable denizens of an alternate dimension. In a house by a park, a religious zealot opens the gates of hell. (Like Light for Flies, Thomas, 2013)
In Fine in the Fire a young boy discovers that his brother is gay in today's world that's not a big deal but in Petey and Toby's world it's considered a sickness. Their father tries to cure Toby by using electric shock therapy using a crude device he builds himself. Toby lies on cot in the work shed hooked up to the machine, a slide projector flashes the image of a naked young woman- nothing happens- then a picture of a muscular man naked and holding his erect penis flashes on the screen, Toby immediately receives a tremendous shock making his body convulse in pain.
Other stories in this book are just as well written & very interesting. I give it four stars.
