I've always been a fan of Loren Coleman and his books, and this one is no different. The word "encyclopedia" tends to turn people off of any book, but this book is lively enough to be interesting throughout all 200 or so pages.
It is a bit outdated (Bernard Heuvelmans is listed as being alive, but he unfortunately died in 2001,) but being published in 1999, many recent discoveries (such as the Giant Squid of 2005) aren't listed as well, although there is an entry for both the Giant Squid and the Kraken. Still, it is one of the most detailed and well-done books on Cryptozoology I've read.
I'd highly suggest picking up a copy of A to Z. Many skeptics refuse to read any book on Cryptozoology, which makes their arguments pointless, but at least with this book they can say they tried to get some good arguments.
